WOW Family Orientation Weekend Parents' Weekend Open House Weekend Commencement Visitor's Information Travel Programs Parent Program Home WOW ORIENTATION PROGRAM WOW - Move-in Weekend September 12-13, 2009 Sponsored by the Week of Welcome (WOW) program, this is move-in weekend for students. The Parent Program is available to welcome parents and family members of new Cal Poly students. WEEK OF WELCOME STUDENT ORIENTATION September 15-19, 2009 WOW is a week long, nationally recognized program that allows new students to experience college life prior to the start of classes. More than 700 student team leaders, who participate in a three-month training program during spring quarter, coordinate the program. WOW groups participate in a get-acquainted mixers for new students; SLO Bound, an introduction to the community and downtown businesses; College Connection Day; Awareness Day; a Block Party and special events. Groups also plan their own outings, keeping students busy from sunrise to sunset. REGISTRATION Students register themselves for Week of Welcome online through the program's registration system available through the CAL POLY PORTAL. Students need a username and password to register. They will receive an e-mail message and a postcard notification directing them when registration is open.
